Liam Rosenior has made four changes to his Chelsea side ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg clash, with notable alterations in both defence and attack.
Defensive Reshuffle Hints at Shape Change
Chelsea appear set for a possible tweak in formation. Wesley Fofana returns to the starting line-up, replacing Benoit Badiashile, and is expected to slot in alongside Trevoh Chalobah and Jorrel Hato in central defence.
Marc Cucurella also comes back into the side and could operate as a left wing-back, while Malo Gusto keeps his place on the right flank.
Fernandez Captains Midfield
In midfield, Enzo Fernandez wears the captain’s armband and partners Moises Caicedo, with Andrey Santos also given a starting role.
Up front, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap lead the attack. Their inclusion sees Jamie Gittens, Cole Palmer, and Alejandro Garnacho drop out of the starting XI.
Bench Boosted by Returning Estevao
Estevao Willian returns to the matchday squad after compassionate leave and takes his place on the bench. He is joined by Academy prospects Shumaira Mheuka and Charlie Holland, with Holland earning his first-ever involvement with the senior men’s squad.
