The Ogun State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Femi Aina, has urged party members and residents of the state to remain united, resolute, and hopeful as the new year begins.

Aina made the appeal in his New Year message to party faithful and the general public, a copy of which was made available to journalists on Thursday.

Expressing strong optimism about the party’s prospects in Ogun State, the NNPP chairman said the party is strategically positioning itself to take over the state’s leadership in the 2027 governorship election.

According to him, the year 2026 presents the opposition party with renewed opportunities for political reorganisation, grassroots mobilisation, and the consolidation of party structures across the state’s 20 local government areas.

“I urge all members of our great party to remain steadfast, committed and hopeful. The new year comes with fresh possibilities, and we must continue to work together with faith in our collective vision for a better Ogun State,” Aina said.

He stressed that the NNPP remains focused on people-oriented governance anchored on transparency, accountability, and inclusive development, noting that many residents are eager for a credible political alternative capable of delivering good governance.

“The people of Ogun State deserve leadership that prioritises their welfare, creates economic opportunities and strengthens public institutions. The NNPP is prepared to offer that alternative, and by the grace of God, we are confident of producing the next governor of Ogun State in 2027,” he added.

Aina also called on party members to intensify grassroots engagement, particularly at the ward and local government levels, describing unity and discipline as critical ingredients for electoral success.

“This is not the time for internal divisions. It is the time to strengthen our structures, reach out to the people and present a clear, people-driven agenda that reflects the aspirations of Ogun citizens,” he said.

The New Nigeria People’s Party, which gained national prominence during the 2023 general elections, has continued to expand its footprint in Ogun State, attracting youths, professionals, and grassroots politicians disillusioned with the traditional political parties.

Political observers note that the NNPP has been quietly building its base through community outreach, political education, and strategic alliances, positioning itself as a growing force ahead of the 2027 general elections.

As preparations for the next electoral cycle gradually take shape, Aina assured members that the Ogun NNPP leadership remains committed to internal democracy, fairness, and the emergence of credible candidates capable of earning the confidence of the electorate.

“Our mission is clear: to offer Ogun State a new direction rooted in competence, integrity and service to the people. With dedication and collective effort, the future is bright for our party and our state,” he said.
