The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 35 newly promoted senior officers in a ceremony aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture.

The decoration ceremony, held at the command’s headquarters in Lagos, saw 30 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were elevated to Superintendent of Police (SP).

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, CP Jimoh described the promotions as a clear demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to professionalism, motivation, and the reward of excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the Commissioner, the exercise reinforces the principle that hard work, dedication, and discipline are recognised and rewarded, and should inspire officers to improve their performance.

On behalf of officers and men of the Lagos State Command, CP Jimoh expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the confidence reposed in the newly promoted personnel.

He described the promotions as a significant morale booster that would enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery across the command.

The Commissioner, however, reminded the officers that their new ranks come with greater responsibility and heightened public expectations.

“Demonstrate greater diligence, discipline, and professionalism in the discharge of your duties. A higher rank comes with increased responsibility and accountability,” CP Jimoh charged.

He concluded by congratulating the families of the promoted officers and expressing confidence that the exercise would translate into improved security for residents of Lagos State.

“I am confident that you will continue to contribute meaningfully to the safety, security, and protection of lives and property in Lagos State,” he said.
