Iraqi President Heads to Cyprus on Official Visit

Iraqi President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid departed for Cyprus on Wednesday on an official visit.

In a statement issued by the Media Office of the President and obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), it was confirmed that President Rashid, accompanied by the First Lady, Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, is visiting Cyprus at the invitation of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.

According to the statement, the President will attend the opening ceremony marking Cyprus’s assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event will be attended by several heads of state, representatives of international organizations, and officials from European Union institutions.

The visit underscores Iraq’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and engaging with international and European partners.
