Arsenal will take on Manchester City in the 2025/26 Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 22, with kick-off scheduled for 4:30pm (UK time).
Road to Wembley
Manchester City sealed their place in the final after a commanding 3–1 victory over Newcastle United in the second leg of their semi-final, completing a 5–1 aggregate win over the reigning champions to set up a mouthwatering showdown with the Gunners.
Arsenal’s journey to the final has been equally dramatic. The North London side began their campaign with a 2–0 away win over Port Vale in round three, followed by another 2–0 success against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium in October.
Just before Christmas, Mikel Arteta’s men were pushed to the limit by Crystal Palace, requiring a penalty shootout to progress after a 1–1 draw in N5. That victory booked a semi-final clash with Chelsea, where Arsenal edged a thrilling 3–2 win at Stamford Bridge. The tie was sealed in dramatic fashion at the Emirates, as Kai Havertz struck in the 96th minute to secure a 1–0 second-leg victory and send Arsenal to Wembley.
City’s Route to the Final
Pep Guardiola’s side saw off Huddersfield Town and Swansea City away from home before eliminating Brentford in the quarter-finals at the Etihad Stadium. City then comfortably navigated their semi-final tie against Newcastle to book their place in the final.
History at Stake
This will be Arsenal’s ninth League Cup final, and their first appearance in the competition’s showpiece event since their defeat to Manchester City in 2018. The Gunners have lifted the trophy twice, with their most recent triumph coming in 1993.
Manchester City, meanwhile, will be aiming for a ninth Carabao Cup title, having last claimed the trophy in 2021.
All eyes will be on Wembley next month as two of English football’s heavyweights go head-to-head for silverware.
