The Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police Force have reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration and operational synergy to enhance security across Delta State.
This renewed partnership was the focus of a courtesy visit by the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, to the Commander, 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force South-South, Operation Delta Safe, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, in Asaba on Tuesday.
The development was disclosed in a statement signed by Captain Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 63 Brigade, and made available to journalists in Warri on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the visit was aimed at strengthening inter-agency cooperation and deepening operational synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Delta State Police Command, with a view to improving effective policing and overall security in the state.
During the meeting, CP Adesola stressed the importance of sustained cooperation among security agencies, particularly in the areas of timely intelligence sharing and coordinated joint operations to address emerging security challenges.
In his response, Brigadier General Shonibare warmly welcomed the police commissioner and his delegation, reiterating the Army’s readiness to work closely with the police and other sister security agencies.
He assured CP Adesola of the Brigade’s full support in crime prevention, maintenance of public order, and the protection of lives and property throughout Delta State, noting that inter-agency collaboration remains a critical pillar of effective security management.
The Army commander further pledged continuous engagement and cooperation to strengthen the existing security architecture in the state.
Recall that PUNCH Online reported in October 2025 that Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, formally launched the Delta State Security Trust Fund, underscoring his administration’s commitment to building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous state through public-private partnership in security management.
