Uyo — Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has directed commissioners and heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to present detailed scorecards of their stewardship, highlighting achievements recorded in 2025 and outlining projections for 2026.
The governor stressed that all submissions must align strictly with the ARISE Agenda, the policy framework guiding his administration.
According to a statement from the Government House Press Unit, Eno gave the directive on Monday while declaring open a two-week ministerial briefing at the State Executive Council Chambers in Uyo.
Two-week briefing begins
Speaking at the opening session, the governor said the exercise would run from January 12 to January 21, featuring daily presentations from members of the Executive Council and MDAs.
“From today, the 12th of January to about the 21st, we will be holding daily ministerial briefing sessions, taking presentations from members of the Executive Council, Ministries, Departments and Agencies,” Eno said.
He urged commissioners to give a comprehensive account of their ministries, including staff strength, key accomplishments in 2025, and clearly defined plans for 2026.
“I urge council members to use this opportunity to give a full account of their ministries — not only as captured in the budget, but in strict alignment with the ARISE Agenda,” he added.
Focus on delivery, results
The governor described 2026 as a critical year for consolidation, expansion and measurable impact.
“Together, we can consolidate the achievements of this administration and ensure that our work continues to improve the lives of the people of Akwa Ibom State. This will be a busy year of expansion and growth, building on the work we have done over the past two and a half years,” he said.
Reiterating his administration’s expectations, Eno warned against delays and excuses.
“We have zero tolerance for excuses. This is the year for action and results,” he declared.
Setting priorities early
The governor explained that the briefing was designed to frontload the state’s priorities and ensure focused, efficient service delivery, especially as the year would combine governance with political activities.
“The exercise is aimed at ensuring early, focused and efficient delivery of government programmes in line with the ARISE Agenda,” he noted.
He also urged council members to mobilise constituents to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration exercise, as well as the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration.
Council ready to deliver
In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, commended Governor Eno for his leadership and described the initiative as timely and unprecedented.
He assured that members of the Executive Council were fully prepared to deliver on their mandates.
Unveiling the presentation schedule, the Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Adviser, Aniefiok Johnson, announced that the briefing would commence immediately, with presentations from the Ministry of Works and the Fire Service.
