The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has said corruption continues to obscure God’s abundant blessings on Nigeria and remains a major barrier to the country’s growth and development.
Olukoyede made the remarks in Abuja on Wednesday while delivering his Christmas message to Nigerians, urging citizens to unite against corruption in order to unlock national prosperity and restore the country’s strength.
According to him, corruption has consistently hindered Nigeria from attaining its full potential, preventing the manifestation of the abundant life God intends for the nation.
“Let us join hands to make our nation greater, stronger and richer. Corruption is a serious drawback, and we must confront it more fiercely to allow God’s abundant life to manifest in our country,” the EFCC chairman said.
He called on Nigerians to collectively resist corrupt practices and work together to build a nation that is more prosperous, stable and respected among the comity of nations.
The EFCC boss also urged citizens to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a pathway to restoring confidence in Nigeria’s future and rekindling belief in the nation’s ability to overcome its challenges.
“Let the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr President ignite fresh hope in us and renew our conviction that Nigeria will rise again,” Olukoyede added.
His remarks come at a time when Nigeria continues to grapple with economic hardship, declining public trust in governance, and intensified efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat corruption and financial crimes nationwide.
