Nigerian content creator and musician Oderhohwo Efe — popularly known as Carter Efe — has become Africa’s most-followed streamer on Twitch following a high-profile livestream with Afrobeats star Davido.

Checks by PUNCH Online on Thursday showed Efe now has more than 406,000 followers on the platform, surpassing the previous record-holder, Adesokan Emmanuel (Shank Comics), who has roughly 233,000 followers.

Efe’s rise was rapid. According to available figures, he had about 322,000 followers a day before the Davido stream and gained roughly 160,000 followers in four days after the announcement and execution of the joint broadcast.
