Chinese snowboard star Su Yiming has secured his first medal at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, earning bronze in the men’s snowboard big air final.

Competing as the defending champion and carrying the weight of delivering Team China’s first gold medal at the Games, the 21-year-old faced immense pressure in Saturday’s final. That pressure showed during his second and third runs, where slightly off-balance landings affected his overall score in a discipline where precision on landing is just as crucial as technical difficulty and style.
Despite the setbacks, Su delivered enough quality to post a combined score of 168.50 points from his first and third runs, securing third place on the podium.
Japan dominated the event, with Kira Kimura claiming gold on 179.50 points, while compatriot Ryoma Kimata took silver with 171.50 points.
Su’s bronze medal marks a strong start to his Milano-Cortina campaign and reinforces his status as one of the world’s leading figures in men’s snowboard big air.
