The Nigeria Police Force has urged citizens not to confront or struggle with criminals, emphasizing that personal safety should always come first.
Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, shared this advice during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television. He stressed that remaining calm in dangerous situations is crucial.
“In the unfortunate event that you find yourself among criminals, do not struggle or fight. Stay calm and save your life first. We can always go after these criminals and ensure they are arrested,” Hundeyin said.
The police spokesperson also highlighted progress in tackling criminal syndicates, particularly the notorious ‘One-Chance’ gangs operating in parts of Abuja.
Hundeyin noted that recent arrests have been made in connection with the group’s activities, including suspects linked to the murder of a lawyer in the Federal Capital Territory.
“We’ve achieved significant results in arresting members of the One-Chance syndicate. Just a few days ago, we apprehended the gang responsible for the lawyer’s murder, and crucial evidence, including a phone, was recovered,” he added.
The Police Force continues to encourage citizens to prioritize safety and promptly report any criminal activity.
